How I spend my Sunday — hour one :)

I’m writing this at 8:30 AM on Sunday morning.

This is me.

I spend Sunday mornings journaling and setting intentions for the week ahead.

I try to start every week this way because it helps me align my actions with my values and prioritize self-care.

As helping professionals, we often put others first, but remember – self-care IS selfish AND it’s 100% essential!

Things I love about this Sunday morning routine are:

– The quiet solitude before a lot of the world wakes up on a weekend

– The clarity it brings to my thoughts and goals

– The sense of purpose it gives me for the week ahead

Things I’d like to change about it:

– Sometimes I wish I could extend this peaceful time a bit longer!

Sundays always feel kind of bittersweet, and I’m grateful for this hour in the morning to centre myself before the week takes off in full swing.

If you’re up for it, I’d love it if you’d reply and share a snap of who you are (if we haven’t met!), and what you’re up to on a Sunday morning, and how you start your weeks.

SALIMA’S SELFISH SELF-CARE TIP: Set a daily “worry window” of 5-7 minutes. When anxious thoughts arise outside this time, note them for later. This technique helps contain anxiety and prevents it from consuming your entire day.

Journal: What thoughts came up outside of your “worry window” and what small thing can you do to support yourself through them now?

Wishing you a week filled with self-compassion and growth,

Salima Jadavji

PS – Here are three things I’m looking forward to this week:

  1. Launching new slots for my “Name It, Tame It, & Take Back Control” program. Perfect for helping professionals looking to enhance their own wellbeing while gaining tools to better serve their clients. Learn more here: https://daretoheal.co/24min-video-conquer-fear/
  2. Preparing for my next free workshop on November 22nd to support my fellow mental health and healthcare professionals. Know someone who might benefit? Feel free to refer them!
  3. Having a fun snack in my “Me Time” and watching an episode of Grey’s Anatomy or Chicago Fire, what about you?

PPS – If you’re looking to prioritize your mental health or know someone in your personal or professional environment who could benefit from professional support, I’d be honoured to help.
